Some people have played Super Smash Bros before. However, some are new to playing these games. This is a list of the top 10 most popular, and best fighters, I recommend to play for new and old players alike.

10. Meta Knight - First up is Meta Knight. He is a good melee attacker and deals good amounts of damage. He can use any of his moves to get back on the stage. But, his moves are extremely hard to control, and you could fall off the stage and die, so be careful if you choose him in battle.

9. Mr. Game and Watch - Mr. Game and Watch is next up on the list. He is a well rounded fighter with good recovery and good attacking. His → B move is a good example of his attacking skills. It is random, but if you get lucky, you can instantly kill your opponent. However, he is one of the lightest characters in the game, making him easy to kill, and has low defense and mobility.

8. Isabelle - Isabelle excels in returning to the stage from long distances. She can use her fishing pole to grab opponents and ledges as an example of getting back to the stage. However, she is a lightweight character and can be killed at high health and is also a slower character, meaning she can be chased down easily by a faster character. Speaking of a faster character…

7. Sonic the Hedgehog - Sonic is the fastest character in the game. He can wall jump and use a homing attack if opponents are near the ledge to reach the stage from long distance. He is well-rounded in combat, but his moves are out of control, meaning if you’re not careful, things could take a turn for the worse.

6. Young Link - Young Link is great for melee combat and can use a boomerang for long range targets. He can also use his grab to reach faraway ledges as a way of returning back on the stage. He can even use a shield to block projectiles. He does have a drawback though. He is easy to kill due to weight, but that can stop him from being on this Top 10 chart.

5. Mewtwo - Mewtwo can use shadow balls that can be charged up and saved at anytime. It has amazing capabilities in jumping and making opponents dizzy. It can also use teleportation to evade opponents and to reach the stage from distances. Strangely, Mewtwo is a lightweight character and can be killed easily. It also has slow air mobility, so therefore it is a slower character in the game.

4. Marth/Lucina - Marth/Lucina are both skilled sword fighters (they’re both the same, but it’s a preferred choice). They may be fast in melee combat (even faster than Link), but they have low defense. They have powerful sword attacks and can use a guard move and use that to their advantage. Their recovery is a fast swing upward, but it is useful for reaching the stage from shorter distances rather than longer distances.

3. Inkling - Inkling from the Splatoon seri
es is one of the most skilled fighters in the game. She can use her paint gun to splatter opponents in paint, and that will inflict more damage and knockback from attacks. She has good speed in air and on the ground and can use a jump to reach the stage. Her impact from the jump when landing will inflict some damage too. However, she doesn’t have infinite amounts of paint, as she will need to refill her tank from time to time. She has low defensive skills, but that won’t matter too much.

2. Solid Snake - Solid Snake is an amazing fighter in the game. He can use grenades, guided missiles, rocket launchers, and remote explosives. He can use his drone to reach the stage from long distances. What makes him top 3 on this list is his infinite recovery, but the downside of that is him taking damage from doing this. His one problem is slow air mobility, so he can be swiped out of the air easily.

1. The Hero - The Hero from Dragon Quest is also an amazing sword-fighting, spell-casting character in the game. He can use certain spells to inflict lots of damage and can reach the stage from long distances. He is well-rounded in combat and mobility. He can also pull up a wide variety of commands like in the Dragon Quest game, each with extreme power and upgrades to attacks and speed. His one problem is that he only has a limited amount of MP to pull off these attacks, but that can be refilled by attacking opponents or just automatically. Some examples of commands are putting opponents to sleep, major increase in speed, zooming upwards and coming back down (a good way to recover), and even self destructing to kill opponents, but these moves appear randomly.
This is the entire list of the Top 10 fighters that are best to play as in the Super Smash Bros. series. Now, good luck out there on the battlefield, players!
