New Teachers

by Eva B., Jonah P., and Camdin S.

RCMS welcomes new teachers and teachers who have chosen new or different positions including Mrs. Smalley, Mr. Leal, Mr. Villanueva, Mr. Bennet and finally, Mrs. Fodera. Each teacher seems to enjoy their new positions as a Bible teacher, science teacher, special education teacher, choir teacher, and a principal.

Mr. Leal says “I wanted to work at RCMS for several reasons. The first it being a Christian school. As a Christian myself, it is very important to me to be a part of an environment where I can help train and educate young Christians. I also love getting to work with my wife Mrs. Leal, who started teaching here last year. The culture here at RCMS is exceptional and something that I am proud to be a part of.”

Mrs. Smalley, who is now teaching Special Education, (SPED) says that she is happy to be working with the Special Education system and says she was invited by Dr. Coleman. Mrs. Smalley says that she went to UCSB college. We asked, “If you could describe yourself in 3 words what would they be?” She said, “Caring, Loyal, and Loved by God.”

As said, Mrs. Smalley teaches Special Education and is happy about her job. Mr. Villanueva teaches Bible and mock trial, and Mr. Leal teaches Bible and Science, and is one of the directors in the middle school play.

Mr. Villanueva said, “The students are great, the teachers are very friendly, and I enjoy helping people learn.”

We are looking forward to having a great year with our new teachers.
