In June 2010, at the young age of two, Vanessa L. was a tornado spinning on the stage for two minutes straight at her first recital. She remembers being covered in white sequins and very itchy.

Ten years later, Vanessa is sitting in a Big Joe chair, with her arm hanging off the chair, sitting up, and typing away. Vanessa is wearing something that reminds her of a picnic table (I agree). She now does 12 classes of dance a week. “I like it. It is fun, but it’s hard,” Vanessa says.

She does many dance classes like hip hop, ballet, performance, group, jazz, musical theater, tap, temporarily, pointe, progressive techniques, acro, and thriller. Her dance studio is Yucaipa Dance, where she has been for five years.

Her favorite dance class is contemporary because she likes the flow of it. “I like the flow of it and how you can make it your own," Vanessa says. Her least favorite dance is Hip Hop which is ironic because that was her first dance class.

She will be dancing at Knotts Berry Farm in December and in the Disneyland parade in April.
