You might know of the RCMS 7th and 8th grade Retreat to Pali Institute on August 29th, but would you like to go “behind the scenes” on how it all began? The reason of the retreat is to have students bond more with each other as well as to get closer to God.

Andrew Spear, the principal of RCMS, was interviewed in order to dive deeper into its origin. He said, “We thought Pali was the safest option and had good structure and fun activities for children. The retreat started several years ago. We’ve been to Alpine Camp, Mile High, and other Christian camps too. But the key is a good experience for all students, so that’s why Pali Institute was chosen.”

Kids from RCMS did team building activities, ropes courses, and had a chapel at nighttime that touched the hearts of lots of students in both grades. Two 7th graders at RCMS were interviewed to find out about their personal responses concerning the retreat.

“I liked the retreat because the ropes courses were fun and challenging,” said 7th grader Ryan A

.

“I liked the retreat, but it would’ve been better if we had more free time,” said Angelina H., another one of RCMS’ 7th graders. All together, 7th and 8th graders bonded with each other through fun activities and learned a lot more about the world we live in through God’s story.
