On September 4th, 2019, a few students from our Redlands Christian Middle School interviewed some of our new teachers.

Ali Gomez interviewed Coach Colvin about school and sports. Coach Colvin said, “In the three weeks I have worked here, I think this school is better than any school I have taught at because the teachers care more and we have great sports.”

He has worked at three other jobs. If he had to pick another subject to teach, it would be Psychology. His favorite sport is basketball. If he had to pick his favorite subject to teach it would be P.E. Coach Colvin says it’s very important to exercise and work out, and he usually tries to work out weekly.

Sofia A. and Kenzie S. also went and interviewed one of our new teachers, Mr.Van Soelen, about school life and a little about himself. Mr. Van Soelen worked at Sioux Falls Middle School before coming to Redlands Christian Middle school. Mr. Van Soelen taught two eighth grade science classes.

Mr. Van Soelen’s favorite baseball team is the Yankees, and his favorite animal is the cheetah. We asked him what his two favorite apps would be and he said, “Tik Tok and Instagram, but I dislike Facebook because it's boring.”

Lastly, Luke H. interviewed Mr. Beebe and asked him a few questions. One of those questions, “Do you like being a teacher or a sub more?” He answered, “I like being a teacher better because I get to know the kids better, and be more involved in student life.” Mr. Beebe likes to play soccer and the position he likes to play is usually right and left back. If his friend is not there or gets injured he takes his place and plays in his position.

Mr. Beebe used to work at In-n-Out and said, “At In-n-Out you have to start at the bottom of the seven tiers and then work you way up.” Mr. Beebe worked his way up to six which was being the cook. He later quit his job before getting to seven.

In the past two weeks as we have been learning about our teachers, we’ve definitely learned a lot. We are super grateful that the school has brought amazing new teachers into our school life. Our school life would be different without them at our school. Our teachers have not only helped our students to grow in their curriculum levels, but they have also helped many students to grow in their spiritual walk with the Lord.

Our teachers are very loving and kind to all of the middle school students. As teachers they have to have patience with us, they have to understand where we are at with our curriculum levels, and have to help us better grow in our walk with the Lord. So we want to give a special shout out to all of our Middle School Teachers and thank them for the hard work they put in to help us. THANK YOU TEACHERS!
