In English class, Trent S. wobbles on his ball, answering every question with, “I don’t know.”

He plays with his pencil absentmindedly while the huge stress and pressure of answering simple questions press him. His eyes dart around as he tries to think of something to say, still lounging on his ball.

1. Birth — Trent has lived in Redlands his whole life. He has lived in three different houses; he likes the one he’s living in now the best. He says, “It’s painted green on the outside, the hot water heater sucks, and there’s no cell service.”

2. Fun with Cousins — Trent is cousins with Diesel T., who has a very different personality compared to Trent. He remembers a time when he went inner tubing at the lake with Diesel one time. Diesel pushed his brother off the tube. Trent tried pushing Diesel off, but it backfired and Trent got pushed in. Another day when he was young, Trent ran Diesel’s bike into a street sign. It was a fierce battle and a close result. Trent got a huge bump on his forehead just because the brakes didn’t work. Also probably because of Trent’s steering as well. He said, “All I know is the brakes did not work. Obviously, because I ran into a street sign.”

3. Sad News — On the day after Thanksgiving, Trent heard some sad news. His grandpa, that had been in the hospital, had passed away. Trent’s grandpa had a heart condition. Then, five years later, his great-grandpa died on the same day at his house.

4. Travel — Trent went on a road trip this summer to South Dakota, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and back to California. The longest time they drove was 13 hours! Overall, Trent has been to 32 states. “If I counted it right," he adds. His top 3 list of favorite places include the Atlantic Ocean, Hawaii and Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. Trent likes these places because “I've only seen the Pacific Ocean before so it was cool to see the Atlantic.” In Hawaii, Trent recalled a time when he was boogie boarding. He said, “I was in the water and there were a few turtles gliding in the water under me.” When Trent went to Cadillac Ranch, or as Trent called it, “The cool place in Texas where the cars stick out halfway out of the sand.”

5. Famous Landmarks — Has been to Mount Rushmore, or “The place with the four heads carved into the mountain.” Trent commented, “It was bigger than I expected, and I did not expect so many buildings to be around it.” Trent has also been to Yellowstone National Park once. His dad almost ran off a part of the road because he couldn’t see around a curve in the road. Talk about exciting.

6. School — Trent’s favorite class is history. He is in Mr. Bebbe’s class. Trent says he likes it because it's not boring.

7. Music — likes to listen to a mix of music. His Spotify playlist is country, pop, and other kinds of music.

8. Sports — Trent plays for the Junior Reign, his hockey team. With five years of history playing with the team, he estimates they win about half of their games. The Junior Reign practice 4 days a week, 2-3 hours. His favorite sports team is the LA Kings. He and his dad enjoy watching hockey. One of his favorite team is the LA Dodgers.

9. Pets — Trent has a golden retriever named Lindsey. He used to have 2 other dogs that were beagles. Their names were Abby and Blackjack. His favorite breed of dog is a golden retriever. Linsey likes to chase bugs and shadows. Once Trent threw a tennis ball and she chased the shadow instead. Then she got hit by the tennis ball.
