Friendship in Middle School

Friendships in middle school can be devastating, but they can also last forever. It is very important to pick friends that have good qualities or friends that you can relate to. This is because if you can’t connect with them then you really can’t consider yourselves friends. Also, would you rather have friends with nothing in common with you or have friends that have some differences and similarities at the same time?
As you can see in the chart the main qualities people like to see in their friends are honest, trustworthy, appreciative, and understanding.
Fellow 8th grader, Caleb S. says, “A friend is someone who will stay by your side in hard times, and always be there for you.”
7th grade science teacher Mr. Van Soelen agrees with this by saying friends are “someone who you can trust, support, and help you grow as a person.”
These definitions are very similar and all other responses were basically the same.
In conclusion, your friends are one of the most important things in your life. They are there for you when you need it most and help you through hard times. All people should choose your friends wisely or you might end up in a friendship you don’t want to be in. Hopefully these statements will help you know how most people want their friendships. These tips could help you create lifelong friends.

This is so true! I have made so many amazing friends in middle school, even when I feared I would be "the loner" because I am such an introvert. I believe that I have the best friends in the whole world and I want to thank you, Allen and Madeline, for writing this. It definitely made a few people think, including me!
