Fiction Book Series that Middle Schoolers Should Read

If you are a middle schooler and always on the lookout for your next favorite book series you are looking in the perfect place. In this article you will discover ten must-read fiction book series for middle schoolers.
1. Land of Stories
If you enjoy reading classic fairy tales you will definitely love this spin off series. In The Land of Stories Alex and Conner Bailey travel through a magical book to a world made of complete fairy tales. Together they must work together to return home by collecting all the magical items. As the series progresses they learn that they play an important role in the fairy tale world and that there is much more to discover.

2. Harry Potter
Usually people have read this series by elementary school but if you haven’t yet this should be on your list of books series to read. It is about a boy named Harry Potter and his adventures as he attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At the school he learns how to do magic. Throughout each book his gets older, defeats more enemies, and learns more about magic.
3. The Lunar Chronicles
Just like The Land of Stories, this series contains tons of spin-off fairy tales.
Each book talks about a different fairy tale. Some of the fairy tales are Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White. You will realize as you read the series that they all have a special connection.
4. The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is a trilogy based on battles in the Roman Empire. As a consequence for going against the capital rules, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each of the 12 districts are picked out by an annual lottery to take part in the Hunger Games which can result in life or death.
5. The Chronicles of Narnia
The Chronicles of Narnia is a whole series about a mystical world. It all starts with four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy discover Narnia through a magical wardrobe. During the end of the first book they defeat the White Witch and are crowned kings and queens of Narnia. The rest of the series is awaiting for you to read.

6. The Giver Quartet
Each story in this quartet has its own unique place in the series. The first book is about a character named Jonas who lives by the rules of “Sameness” There is no true pain or pleasure. When Jonas turns 12 he is assigned the job of the Receiver of Memory, and he learns what true pain and pleasure feels like. There is no turning back.
7. Percy Jackson and the Olympians
This series is all about Greek Mythology. Percy Jackson must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen Zeus’ master bolt. During his journey he comes across several mythical enemies. This book is one of many Percy’s adventures.
8. The Secrets of the Immortal
Fifteen-year-olds Sophie and Josh Newman, whose normal lives are changed when Dr. John Dee comes into their lives. He tells them that he is immortal and that he is in danger and needs their help. Together they are swept into a magical adventure risking their lives.
9. Among the Hidden
In this book’s setting, families are only limited to have two children. Sense the main character, Luke is the third child in his family he is forced into hiding for his whole life. But that soon changes when he receives a fake I.D. from his friend’s father who works for the government.
10. Keeper of the Lost Cities
12-year old Sophie Foster finds out about a secret civilization called elves. She is surprised to find out that she is one of them and has to erase all traces of herself from her old life in San Diego, California. While in these lost cities everything looks glimmery and happy, The Lost Cities are anything but perfect! It is up to Sophie and her newfound friends to save the Lost Cities from their enemies.
Two series that are also really good are, Warriors and Wings of FIre.

Clayton, Alexa did not make the list in a specific order and she had the Keeper of the Lost Cities series higher on her list when she originally made it.
