Around 3 weeks ago, students started school with electives. New electives were added by student evaluation, so students could have more variety. “Chosen by teachers’ passion, more electives were added to freshen up student’s schedules!” our principal Mr. Spear exclaimed.

Cuisine, led by Mrs. Ramirez, shows students how to use measurements and create food in the kitchen.

Simulation station which is taught by Mr. Van Soelen, an amazing science teacher; teaches students how to live out realistic scenarios. “I like to teach about historical simulation stations,” Mr. Van Soelen explained.

Robotics is also one of our new electives this school year. Previously, Mr. Rewald (our robotics teacher now), sponsored the after-school club. It was changed into an elective class, “so more students could participate in the activity.”

Sports medicine is an elective where students learn how to prevent injuries and understand the different types of injuries. This class is led by our middle school P.E. teacher, Mr. Colvin.

Those were some of the new interesting electives this year, come back to see more news soon!

(Not listed; mock trial, music exploration, STEM, and worship arts).
