There is a new staff member for the Extended Care program at RCMS this year: Ms. Emilee Schaefer. And the students seem to love her.

Previously, Ms. Sarah Nydam led the program for 4 years, but she now works with Mrs. Lane as a paraprofessional. This is why the school hired Ms. Schaefer who says,” Working with kids is a huge passion of mine! Hopefully ten years from now I will be teaching a class of my own, possibly history or art."

When looking to fill the extended care position, Mr. Spear said,“ It became very apparent that Ms. Schaefer would be a great fit for our school community in her role in extended care.”

Ms. Schaefer is very passionate about Christ. She was born here in California, but has lived a good part of her life all over the place, including Arkansas and Ireland! Much of her family lives in Arkansas. "All together I have about 12 brothers and sisters."

She loves to collaborate with people and help students.

Mrs. Brown said Ms. Schaefer came from Packinghouse. “When I was a teacher there, she [Ms. Schaefer] was one of my students, and she also performed in my Show Choir! She is a funny and kind person. She knows how to do origami paper frogs. She is cool and strict when the time comes. She is the right person for the job because she loves working with kids and likes being in the education field."
