2-3 days a week certain students of RCMS gather in room 302 to have lots of fun learning about all things drama! These students play games, learn about cold reads, monologues, and even things like learning how to audition properly
The new teacher Ms. Haugland is now teaching drama class at RCSM, and this year it’s not just 8th graders doing drama, now 6th and 7th graders can attend it as well.
7th grader Rachel A. said, “ I would rate this class a 10 out of 10! When the time comes for me to go to drama class I get excited because I love everything about drama. I think other people would enjoy this class too and I am planning on going to drama in the future as well.”
Samantha K., who is also a 7th grader, said,“ I would rate this class a 9.5 out of 10 because I don't really like to do public speaking but other than that I think this class is great!
The drama teacher Ms. Haugland says “IT'S AN ABSOLUTE 10/10! I think everyone would enjoy it because even if you don't want to be a performer, it is always good for you to exercise your imagination!”
The students who are in drama will partake in all kinds of activities this year. The activities include focusing on being a well-rounded theatre artist, which includes learning how to move on stage, as well as breathing and projecting your voice properly. It also includes learning all about the other aspects of theatre. Some of these things are playwriting, makeup design, script analysis, lighting and sound design, the list goes on! Students will also learn how to rehearse and perform a short play and then dive into different theatre histories.
A lot of people think drama is just about singing, dancing, or acting on stage, but there is something for even the shy and quiet people in the production process. Drama offers an opportunity for teamwork, sharing talent, and developing skills we sometimes don't even know we have.

Great article! Keep up the good work!
I like how you asked kids in drama class what their thoughts were, that shows how much you were dedicated to this article.
