Baseball at RCMS

Baseball season has started, and the team is already on a roll. Going into a strong 5-0 position, the team is already thinking about defending their title from last year. The team last year consisted of a lot of good club players, and some kids were afraid of losing our winning streak. After the team's victories, those thoughts have changed.

Allen O. thinks this is why the team was able to grab hold of the championship last year.

“Because we had great teamwork. We also had tons of talent. I personally did not get to be on the 8th grade team but I did see the championship game. Which I would define as the best game ever,” says Allen.

“I think that we have a lot of talent so I think we can go all the way to championship and possible win it to. I am not sure but if I had to choose I would say Bloomington or Woodcrest to be our biggest threat,” continues Allen.

“I think that we will go to the championship, and win in a very close game,” says Stephen

The team is very confident after beating Woodcrest Christian. To a lot of kids, and the coaches, this would be the toughest team that we would face. After defeating Woodcrest 9-6, the team has built up their confidence to destroy anyone who comes in between the championship and them. With a good supply of pitchers, built infield, a strong outfield, and a couple of pretty bats, they have everything they need to go to the championship.

Coach Toth, who has coached the middle school team for 5 years now, thinks that we can also take the championship home as well. He expects much out of the team, and implies good discipline to make the team stronger physically and mentally. He is never afraid to give the players a couple of good ol’ laps around the field.

Kids are already thinking of next year, when the team will once again, lose and gain new players. Cody Y. has an opinion on the team next year. “I think next year are team will still be pretty solid and we will win it all,” he says.

With a really solid baseball program, and a good reputation for having a good ball club, who wouldn’t think that. The confidence could lead the team to a great year, or that confidence will spread to overconfidence, but who really knows what God has in store for the team. What we do know, is that the team is ready to give their all to playing the game of baseball.
