Do you want to know some things about our new electives? Some of the new electives are American Sign Language (ASL), Cuisine, and Spanish. The new electives came out August 14, 2019 at the beginning of the school year, at Redlands Christian Middle School.
Spanish is a returning elective. 7th grader Angelina H. said. “I like the teacher [Mrs. Massey] because she is nice, and I also like how she teaches.”
“I like to learn about the culture,” said new 7th grader Antonio V. “The teacher is nice and calm, and I like the way she teaches.”
“I like how I get to learn another language and culture; I chose this elective so I could speak the language better,” said 8th grader Aryah S. “I like the teacher and how she teaches with a flip book.”
ASL is a new elective led by Mr. Bebee. “I like Mr. Bebee because he is fun,” said 7th grader Ethin B. “I like how it is quiet and we move our hands a lot.”
Cuisine is also a new elective, taught by high school teacher Mrs. Ramirez. “Cuisine is fun, and I like how we get to learn how to cook and the science behind it,” said 7th grader Madison D. “Mrs. Ramirez is a little strict, but also fun.’’
As you can see many of the students are excited about the new electives.
“The reason for the new electives was based on student feedback, and them wanting to have more of a variety in electives, and a choice. I am excited for the new electives and to see what everyone thinks of them,” said Principal Andrew Spear.
