You might not know what aardvarks really are. They might look a little weird, but they actually have some really cool features.

Aardvarks live south of the Sahara desert in Africa. During the day, they are cooped up in their cool, underground burrows. They dig these with their powerful and sharp claws. They also use these claws to find termites and ants at night. They dig into termite mounds and use their long, sticky tongue to slurp up the termites in the strong mounds.
Aardvarks have some features like other animals: a tail like a kangaroo, claws like a bear, webbed feet like a duck, a snout like a pig, and ears like a rabbit. However, the aardvark is not related to any of these other creatures.
Female Aardvarks usually give birth to a baby/newborn once a year. The newborns stay with their mother for about six months before going on their own.

As you can see, aardvarks might look like some weird alien, but they are actually some very interesting creatures.
